Easy Pot Roast Seasoning

One thing I stand by in the kitchen is making my own homemade seasonings. No weird fillers or ingredients you can’t pronounce. This blend is easy to keep on hand for a big chuck roast.

Pot Roast Seasoning Ingredients

  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1½ tablespoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1½ tablespoons coarse salt
  • 2 teaspoons pepper

  • Change the flavor: Add ½ teaspoon paprika or ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes—choose one. Red pepper flakes add heat.
  • Add Italian seasoning: swap the oregano, thyme, and parsley for 6 teaspoons of Italian seasoning.

Storage

For best flavor, store leftover seasoning in an airtight container or glass jar in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.
