I recommend doing your strength training exercise at the gym. There are several good reasons for this, and I’ll tell you some of the best. First of all, you can get a spot in the gym. Of all the strength training injuries, most could have been avoided with a proper spotter. This is especially true with free weights, which can injure or even kill you if you are forced to drop them due to muscle fatigue. This is the most important reason to go to the gym, but it is far from the only one.
The fact is that it’s easier to get pumped up for your strength training exercise when you go to the gym. With all the people around you spending their time getting in shape, you just won’t feel like slacking off on your strength training program while you’re at the gym. Many gyms even have personal trainers available to help you achieve your personal best by making you work harder than yourself and helping you pursue your goals. They can even suggest which strength training exercises you should use and how many to strengthen the muscle groups you’re interested in. However, before you start strength training, there are some cardiovascular things you should do. While you can do just fine without strength training, cardio is absolutely essential to your health. You will live longer, be healthier, happier, and even have more energy if you do some aerobic activities every day to stay active. We don’t stay young forever, but those of us who engage in appropriate aerobic exercise stay young longer than those who don’t. Once you get started, you can add it to your strength training program.
